Black History Month

Feb 1, 2024

Impact Talent Solutions is passionate and proud to celebrate people…all people. In celebration of Black History Month, please join us in recognizing and appreciating the many contributions of our black community yesterday, today and tomorrow.

From February 1 to March 1, the U.S. celebrates Black History Month, originally established to highlight the incredible accomplishments of Black Americans. This observance provides an opportunity to shine a light on their sacrifices, heritage, and influential figures who have shaped our nation’s history.

Did you know that Black History Month began as just a week-long observance in 1926? Thanks to Carter G. Woodson, a pioneering scholar and teacher, it expanded to a month-long celebration. Woodson recognized the lack of representation of Black history in education and launched Negro History Week to honor and showcase the significant contributions of Black Americans, aligning it with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

Fast forward to 1976, when President Gerald Ford extended Black History Week to a month-long recognition during America’s Bicentennial celebration, marking a pivotal moment in acknowledging and preserving the invaluable contributions of our Black community.

Join us in celebrating the enduring legacy and impactful contributions of our Black brothers and sisters. Let’s honor their past, celebrate their present, and inspire their future!
